I am seeing "Error Code 011" (Cannot Connect to Roku) during setup.
What should I do?
If you are attempting to setup your Roku player and you see a Code 011 error, this means the Roku player momentarily lost connection to the Roku update server.
There may be a chance that Roku servers are not available due to a scheduled maintenance.  When this happens, try again after a short period of time.
Then just perform a Power cycle of the Roku player with the instructions below.  You should be able to continue where you left off.

To resolve this, you can also do the following:
A.      Power cycle the Roku player by removing the power connector from the back of the Roku player.
Ø  Wait 30 seconds, then reconnect the power.
Ø  Wait for the player to restart, then follow the on-screen instructions.

B.      Network Power cycle - If power cycling the Roku player did not resolve the error then a network power cycle might.
Ø  To do this turn off the following devices - Roku player, Wireless,  Router/Modem (note that your router and modem may be one physical unit)
Ø  Wait 30 seconds then reconnect the power connectors in this order, waiting 1 minute between each device to allow it to fully boot.
Ø  Follow the on-screen instructions from the Roku player and TV.

C.      Factory Reset -If none of the above steps worked then a reset of the Roku player may be needed.
Ø  To reset the Roku player:
Ø  Find the reset button.
Ø  Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds then release.
Ø  The Roku player will then restart.
Ø  Follow the on-screen instructions for setup.

If you are attempting to setup your Roku player and you see a Code 014 error, this means the Roku player is unable to connect to its Wireless Network.
Following are some of the scenarios that may be used to connect Roku to your wireless network.
In order to connect to your Wireless network, you must see three green ticks/checkmarks in the following options:
Ø  Your Wireless Network
Ø  Your Local Network
Ø  The Internet
A.      When you get a red cross in the first item
Check for the following:
-Whether you are using the correct wireless password for your network (remember that passwords are case sensitive)

- ensure you have selected the correct wireless name

- adjust player position for better wireless signal

B.      When you get a red cross in the second item
Check the following:

- Whether you have made sure that you have” MAC address list filtering” turned off

- Or Added the MAC address of the Roku player to the list.

- Whether ensured that there are no software or network settings preventing a new wireless device from joining the wireless network.

C.      When you get a red cross in the third item
Check the following:
-Whether your Internet connection is active in another device

- Adjusted DNS settings on your router (check with your router manufacturer for instructions)

Error Code – 001 (Activation Issue)
This error pops up when there is a fault while you’re trying to install/activate Roku for the first time.
Before activation, you need to create a Roku account and then link your device to the created Roku account.
You need to check on the following:

-          Whether you are using any DNS from the likes of Unblock-us, Unotelly, etc on your router, and have static routes set up on your router to block Google’s DNS?

-          If you do, disable the static routes and reboot the Roku and try again.

-          If not, reboot your router and the Roku, make sure it’s connected correctly to your home wifi, and try again.

-          The next step is to reset the Roku.

Resetting Protocol:

-           Locate the reset button; use a paper clip or any sharp pointed object, try to press the reset button in.

-          Press in and hold with power for approximately 20 - 30 seconds or until you see the Roku welcome screen.

-          Then reconnect to your home wifi , and try the activation process again.

Error Code – 009 – Cannot connect toInternet
When Roku is unable to connect to the internet, you get the error code as 001. This could occur when the servers of your ISP (Internet Service Provider) are down temporarily.

Check the following:
-Whether your Internet connection is active in another device

-Adjusted DNS settings on your router (check with your router manufacturer for instructions)
- Perform a Power cycle
- If you still see the same error, contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to assign a new DNS for you.

The software update server could not be reached. There may be a problem with your network. Select ‘Check Network’ to check your network connection, or ‘Cancel’ to try again later (error code 003).
The error code is received when your Roku is not able to connect to the Server.

Troubleshooting Procedure: You can try either of the following
Please contact your ISP [Internet Service Provider] for DNS settings (or*)
On your remote press the secret screen combination:
Home 5 times, Fast Forward 3 times, Rewind 2 times.
Scroll to "Update Software" and click OK.
